About

Authentic flavors, traditions, and delicious dishes!
The Balmoș Festival in Corbu is one of the community’s special gastronomic and traditional events, dedicated to authentic flavors and the preservation of local culinary traditions and customs.

At the heart of the festival is balmoș*, prepared on site according to recipes and traditions passed down from generation to generation, alongside traditional dishes and local products. Visitors are invited to discover the rich gastronomy of Corbu and its surroundings in an atmosphere where authentic food comes together with music, folk costumes, traditions, and cultural performances.
A festival where flavor, tradition, and local identity come together in an authentic experience.

The festival is organised every year in September.

*Balmoș is a traditional Romanian shepherd’s dish, originally prepared by shepherds in the mountain regions. It is generally made with cornmeal (polenta) and sheep’s milk or sheep’s milk cheese, often combined with sour cream, butter or other dairy products. It is not simply polenta, but a richer, creamier traditional dish prepared with dairy products.
