The Fairy Glade

A long time ago, a shepherd walked in the still uninhabited area and discovered the wonderful springs of the Tusnad Baths. Meanwhile, the place has been populated, and since then, people came from far away to find cures for their illness.

In the valley of the Goagiu River, near the Târnava Mare River, in the days of the Crusades, some knights built a dwelling. At first it was only a resting place, after which some houses were also built, and then a whole village rose. This is the present-day city Cristuru Secuiesc.

King Saint Ladislau made a miracle-producing spring for his soldiers. This spring is still flowing today, and those who drink from its water are refreshed and regain their lost powers.

The Hungarian national poet, Sándor Petőfi, has spent the last night before disappearing on the Albești battlefield under the pear tree of the Gyárfás manor in Cristuru Secuiesc. There are whispers that he also wrote a poem, but the only witness is the tree.

Two naked fairies are held prisoner in the cave. They suffer from cold, and they curse the whole area if they are not dressed. From time to time, some ugly dwarves also look outside the cave. They are the guardians of a fabulous treasure.

The Giants made the hills of the Praid area from salt. One of them has pierced the hill opposite Árcsó, thus giving life to the salty spring that washes the Csigadomb hill.

The defeated Tatars wanted to hide the spring between Mugeni and Dârju, but the water easily threw the beech trunk with which they wanted to plug the spring. This spring still exists today.

Even though Csicser didn’t have noble origins, his bravery proved him worthy to marry the daughter of the lord from the neighboring Budvár fortress. But this engagement was preceded by a love correspondence, the young man sending arrow-tied letters to the girl.

The Kuruc tricked the large band of Labanc that gathered at the edge of Odorhei, and the two hills, one tall, the other smaller, bear the Hungarian name associated with this event, namely Kis- and Nagy-Csalóka.
