About
A fairy called Tarkő lived on the rocks that dominate Bălan village. She had two girls, Maros / Mureș - and Olt. The two girls wanted to visit their father exiled at the Black Sea. For this purpose, their mother turned them into flowing waters, but the two were in perpetual rivalry, so they went on different paths. Eventually, after both of them joined their waters with the Danube river, they arrived together to their father.
