Harghita Challenge

About

Every year in June, a motor speed race is organised on the road to Harghita Băi/Hargitafürdő.

Mountain racing is one of the most accessible motorsport disciplines, but also one of the oldest approved forms of motorsport in Romania.
In such a race, all the competitors try to complete the designated road section in the shortest possible time, which is only on asphalt and uphill (hence the name - mountain). The riders start one by one every 30 seconds or every minute.
Unlike in rallying, in the mountain races only the driver is in the car, so single-seater cars can also compete.
