The Roman Catholic Church in Lupeni was built between 1842-1848, in a classicist style, on the hill to the West of the village, at 581 m altitude. The church dimensions: 47 m long, 15.80 m wide, and a 38 m high tower.
The church bells were made in Sibiu in 1927. Mátisfalvi Szőcs Sámuel built the organ in 1865.
The monument of the fallen heroes from the First World War is in front of the church.
