In the days of the Tatar invasion, the Szeklers from Ciuc donned masks to resemble the devil, scaring them and thus defeating the invaders. The remembrance of these events is preserved at Vérkápolna - The Bloody Chapel and at Ördöglik - The Hole of the Devils.

Close to Toplița, at the confluence of the Szekeres and Voievodeasa creeks, there is a group of strange stones. A larger and flatter stone is surrounded by smaller stones, as if it was a table surrounded by chairs. The local tradition implies that robbers came here after a robbery to hide the stolen treasures, but also to plan the next action.

At the meeting of the Belcina and Vargatac rivers there was a strong fortress built on the top of the Várdomb rock. The fortress was inhabited by Lady Hirip and her two sons, Ábrahám and Damokos. The two sons made a great fortune by plundering, and they kidnapped a lot of beautiful girls. Eventually, the two Mikó brothers defeated them and the angry people demolished the odious fortress.

The baron Bánffy Dezső owned a vineyard in Breaza, near Reghin, and a lot of fir forests in Toplița. In jest, his friends offered to come and pick the grapes, but in Toplița. A fairy called Tarkő lived on the rocks that dominate Bălan village. She had two girls, Maros / Mureș - and Olt. The two girls wanted to visit their father exiled at the Black Sea. For this purpose, their mother turned them into flowing waters, but the two were in perpetual rivalry, so they went on different paths. Eventually, after both of them joined their waters with the Danube river, they arrived together to their father.
