Motorsirülő Challenge 2026

On July 11, 2026, the most determined lovers of road cycling will once again line up at the start of the Motorsirülő Challenge, a 201-kilometer event with nearly 3,500 meters of elevation gain, a true test of both body and mind.

The peloton sets off from the city center of Miercurea Ciuc, and from the very first kilometers it becomes clear: this is more than just a long-distance bike ride. Participants will face six serious climbs that gradually raise the stakes. Two key points of the course are the climbs to Sântimbru Băi and Harghita-Băi, where riders must prove themselves on time-limited segments. Here, not only strength but also pace and mental endurance play a decisive role.

The maximum time allowed to complete the full distance is 12 hours. Along the route, five checkpoints and refreshment stations help cyclists refuel, hydrate, and prepare for the upcoming climbs.

The final challenge is the legendary Motorsirülő ascent, the mountain that gives the event its name. This is where it truly becomes clear who managed their reserves wisely and who can push beyond their own limits.
