LET’S PILGRIMAGE TOGETHER – 500 KM OF THE VIA MARIA – CEREMONIAL OPENING IN ȘUMULEU CIUC

Years of work, prayer, service and countless kilometres have brought us to a special milestone.

On 19 September 2026, we will ceremonially open the 500 km section of the Via Maria connecting Máriapócs and Șumuleu Ciuc/Csíksomlyó.

More than just a route, these 500 kilometres represent the dedication, prayers and efforts of the pilgrims, volunteers and communities who have built, walked, marked and cared for the route over the years.

Join us for a day of pilgrimage, community, stories and celebration, culminating in the official opening of the Máriapócs–Șumuleu Ciuc section and a Thanksgiving Mass at the Shrine Church.
