About
In 1884, Gergely Csiky wrote his bittersweet comedy, "Buborékok", a play rich in comedic twists, about the Solmay family, which falls hopelessly into debt due to reckless spending. Yet, the story is about us. All the characters are familiar: the head of the family who watches as it falls apart, the ambitious mother who escapes into shopping to avoid reality, the morally bankrupt children, political corruption, and the ever-growing bubble of debt and lies that we keep inflating, knowing well what the end will be.
Csiky's play has been adapted by the Mohácsi brothers in their unique style — musically, humorously, and deeply moving.
