The valiant furrier – musical fairy tale

(Not only) for children, this fabulous musical play is performed by the excellent artists of the Ciuc Chamber Orchestra, as they have done in recent years.

The performance is also a world premiere, marking its first presentation on the stage in Csíkszereda. The conductor of the evening will also be the author Sándor Balogh, and the narrator who guides us through the story will be  Csaba Adorján (Miercurea Ciuc).

The valiant furrier is a poor yet courageous and resourceful master craftsman whose meager possessions consist of a needle, a notched pair of scissors, a toothless wife, and as many children as there are the holes in a sieve – or perhaps even one more. This craftsman finds himself in a peculiar adventure with the Devil, who attempts to outwit him and put his courage to the test. However, the furrier uses his skill and cunning to outsmart the Devil, proving that wit is often more powerful than might. In the end, the brave furrier receives his well-deserved reward, and his victory teaches us that even the greatest difficulties can be overcome with courage and cunning.

The performance is also a challenge for the audience, with plenty of interactive play opportunities in this 45-minute musical parade. If the adults accompany the little ones to the performances, they won't be bored either!

Adult tickets cost 20 lei, children's and senior tickets cost 10 lei, which can be purchased in advance on the website www.prokult.ro or at the ticket office of the House of Arts.

The performance is supported by the Harghita County Council, the Harghita County Cultural Centre, the Mayor's Office and Municipal Council of Miercurea Ciuc and the Ciuc Chamber Orchestra Association.
