About
Sport Club Miercurea Ciuc is an ice hockey team in Harghita county, based mainly on local players, raised in their own nursery, evolving in parallel in the MOL League and the Romanian championship.
The first "ice club" in Ciuc was founded in 1880, the Skating Association Miercurea Ciuc (Csíkszeredai Korcsolyázó Egylet) was officially registered in 1881.
However, until the birth of the hockey team it was over 40 years, when due to a diary journal news projected at the cinema before the movie, the bourgeoisie saw for the first time a true hockey match. "And we are in a position to do that!" Exclaimed Vákár Lajos and other young people, and from that moment on we can talk about hockey in Ciuc.
In 2006 a new road opened for Ciuc hockey life. In parallel with the Romanian competitions, the team also participates in the Hungarian championship, having previously played in the Pannonia League, and in the 2008/2009 season it participates in the newly established MOL League.
From the 2010/2011 season, the Ice Hockey Team Sport Club participates in all competitions under the name of HSC Csíkszereda, and in the same year wins the trophy of the MOL League.
