The flow of the spring is decreasing.
Therapeutic indications: Hypoacid gastritis, ulcerative disease, hypocalcemia.
It was discovered in 1868 by the Royal Deputy Judge Puskás Ferencz of Gheorgheni, together with a young man from the gendarmerie. In 1873 it was inaugurated, the spring being appropriately arranged so it can be used also in the rainy season for treatment. A terrace was also built for events.
It was first analyzed by the chemistry professor Dr. Than Károly in 1873, and later in 1889 by Dr. Hankó Vilmos. It has the highest ferrous content of all the sources in Borsec. Until the outbreak of World War I, the water of this spring was bottled.
