About

The most significant annual event in Siculeni/Madéfalva is the Onion Festival. The aim of the festival is to entertain the audience with colorful and interesting programs for several days. Festival visitors are expected with cultural, traditional and gastronomic programs, as well as sports events and children's programs.

ONION TRAIL
The heart and soul of the festival is Saturday, August 30 – the day of the Onion Trail, when the very best of the village comes to life every year!

This year, six onion stations will welcome visitors with the following selection of food, wine, and music:

Siculicidium – Roasted lamb with cheesy polenta / Wines from Mogyoród / Heveder band
Forráspont – Árpád’s cabbage pot / Vinkli Wine Shop / For Play band
Csíki Hunters – Deer roasted with onion, pumpkin–celery cream with crispy walnuts / Wines from Herend / Forbi Brass band
Vargaszeg – Virgin Harmonies / Lengyel Winery Székelyhíd / Mocskonyi Dörgő
Alszeg – Onion stew Alszeg style / Wines from Somberek / István László and his band
Patakelve – Beef stew with Patakelve-style dumplings / Wines from Sălaj / Tarló band
