8th Odorheiu Secuiesc/Udvarhely Folk Song Festival

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Organized by the Hargita County Cultural Heritage Center and the Harghita County Council, the 8th Udvarhely Folk Song Festival will take place on April 18, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM, in Homoródalmás, at the Szabó Gyula Cultural House.

The festival aims to encourage children to sing folk songs with joy and freedom, while promoting authenticity and proper performance, as well as the shared experience of singing together.

As a traveling festival, it offers children the opportunity to discover the settlements of Udvarhelyszék—this year, Homoródalmás.

We welcome applications from students aged 7 to 18, performing individually or in small groups, presenting folk songs from their village or region.

Each selection should include 3–4 folk songs and must not exceed 5 minutes.
