On the Day of Hungarian Science in 2023, marking the 140th anniversary of Dr. Gábor Pál’s birth and the 55th of his passing, an academic memorial conference was held in Miercurea Ciuc, organized by the EME Csíki Branch, the Consulate General of Hungary in Miercurea Ciuc, and the Sapientia University.

The RTV Hungarian Programme produced a documentary titled From Csíksomlyó to Geneva: The Battles of Dr. Gábor Pál.
The Csíkszereda Publishing Office released this year The Generation of Fathers by Oláh-Gál Elvira, presented at the 10th Miercurea Ciuc Book Fair.

Both works revive the example of Dr. Pál — a lawyer, senator, and MP — who, after the territorial changes in Transylvania, dedicated himself to defending community rights and strengthening Hungarian identity.

The author writes: “We wish to highlight the example marked by professional and political integrity, firm faith, and moral honesty.”

A discussion with the authors will be moderated by journalist István Sarány.
