Turkish zurna, drums, janissaries!

How did Turkish drums, pipes, and cymbals find their way into the European music? The Ciuc Chamber Orchestra seeks to answer this question in its latest Family Concert.

At this lively, interactive concert, we will discover together how a Baroque battle sounds and what instruments are used by composers to bring the various sounds of battle to life. Accompanied by the music of Johann Joseph Fux and Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, the imaginary army sets off on its journey: but with instruments instead of swords! Children can get up close and personal with the instruments, try out different rhythms, and play music together with the musicians.
