Puppet Show: Csihán Királyúrfi

 The Szekler folk tale "Csihán királyúrfi" contains many elements that resemble the fairy tale "Puss in Boots," as recorded by Perrault. In this story from the Szekler Land, the helper animal is not the stereotypical cat found in most tales, but rather a fox. A poor miller manages to save the life of the fox, who, in return, enriches him and finds him a beautiful wife. The ending of the story is particularly interesting, as the prince realizes how ungrateful he has been. The fox has performed many good deeds, and gratitude should replace disdain. He takes the fox along with him, as the series of good deeds should never be interrupted.
