About
The works of Fruzsina Erzsébet Siklódi lead us into a space where the boundaries between architecture, sculpture, and painting dissolve. Her art reinterprets brutalist architecture inherited from socialism not as historical documentation, but as a complex cultural body. These structures, stripped of their original function, persist as remnants in contemporary space—no longer serving their initial ideological purpose, yet materially resisting disappearance.
Her works explore how monumentality, mass, and material presence replace function, creating a post-functional state where meaning emerges through presence rather than use. In this sense, these structures come closer to the logic of sacred spaces than to the rationality of modern architecture. The central question becomes not whether these buildings can be restored, but whether they can once again become spaces of silence, memory, and presence.
The exhibition is opened by visual artist Ferencz S. Apor.
