About

On this evening, singer and storyteller András Berecz recounts the birth of music — its divine and human meaning. He wanders in and out of Hungarian, ancient Greek, Mongolian, Kazakh, Chuvash, and Irish legends and tales, with unrestrained delight.
He tells of the power of music, its celestial and earthly nature, their encounters and clashes — through the fates and struggles of ancient gods and spirits. About good and bad musicians, about melodies that bring peace or provoke war — describing almost tangible, living impossibilities, sometimes passing merciless judgment.
His timeless and ever-valid musical aesthetics, built upon vast literature and the confessions of folk singers, are alternated and affirmed by music and song.
The evening’s collaborator, Dániel Szabó, performs the inner truths of these many musical tales on his Apollonian instrument, the cimbalom.
The main illustrators of the performance: the creator of the painted panels of the Reformed Church of Bogártelke, Giorgione, and Titian.
